Open for Me My Heart: An anti-racist Feminist Queer Muslim Response to Systemic Xenophobia

The following speech was spoken on January 30th, 2017 in Tio’tia:ke, unceeded Kanien’kehá:ka territory, at a Vigil in response to the anti-Muslim murders in sainte-foy, quebec.

A special thank you to my dearest Ammi whose words shared the stage with me.  Shokaria to Queer, Trans, Womxn Muslims, and QTBIPOC allies, in all of your beautiful layers, for your solidarity and presence (in spirit/virtually/physically).  I felt you as I read out the speech.  I am grateful for community.  Hopeful.  Inspired to keep fighting.  We are powerful.  Truly.
